Lightning protection in home electrical installation in combination with the socket outlet with surge protection provide reliable protection from lightning strike for devices and appliances. For  the protection od devices which, beside power plug, have other ports (for example, antenna or telephone port), it is necessary to use socket oulets with built-in surge protection also in those ports.
